2021 AFC North QBs

In our series on the QB situation around the NFL, we continue with the AFC North

Baltimore Ravens:

Lamar Jackson had another outstanding year in 2020 with 26 TDs, 1005 Yards rushing and leading the Ravens to the Divisional round for a second straight year.   Lamar has 2 years left on his rookie deal, the question is when will the Ravens sign their franchise QB to a second contract.

The question is who will back-up Lamar; will the Ravens re-sign RG3 or Tyler Huntley or Trace McSorley?

Pittsburgh Steelers:

The Steelers and Ben Roethlisberger came to an agreement to give the Steelers some cap relief.  This figures to be Big Ben’s last year in his Hall of Fame career.  If Ben can stay healthy and with the Steelers top 3 defense, maybe he can lead the men of Steel to one more ring.

Who will start for the Steelers in 2022?  Dwayne Haskins?  Mason Rudolph?  Don’t anticipate the Steelers trading for a QB or trading picks to land a QB in this year’s draft.  Look for the Steelers to give Haskins an opportunity to sit for a year and develop into the starter in 2022.

Cleveland Browns:

2020 was a big step forward for Baker Mayfield.  He answered his critics by cutting down his turnovers and leading a talented Browns team to the playoffs.  He does have some new critics who question whether he actually saw a UFO.

The Browns have yet to sign Baker to an extension.  Tough decision for the Browns, Baker has proven to be an above average QB but is he elite?  That is the 100 Million question.

Cincinnati Bengals:

The Bengals appear to have found their franchise QB in Joe Burrow who displayed uncanny poise and accuracy.  Now it is incumbent upon the Bengals to build around Burrow.  Look for the Bengals to grab a WR in the first round and offensive line help on the second day of the draft.
