We continue our look at the QB situation with the NFC West
Seattle Seahawks:
After a disappointing loss in the playoffs, Russell Wilson has spent the off season causing unnecessary drama. Wilson and his camp have bashed the offensive line and gave a list of four teams that he would be open to waiving his no trade clause. The only team on his list that has a QB opening the Chicago Bears made an offer to the Hawks that Pete and John quickly shot down. The Bears have neither a top 5 draft pick or a decent QB to trade the Hawks and Pete at age 70 is not looking to rebuild. Where does that leave Russ and Pete? They are stuck with each other for 2021. The Hawks are hoping offensive coordinator Shane Waldron’s offensive scheme will cure the malaise the offense experienced the second half of the season. The Hawks need to get off to a good start to keep the drama at bay.
Los Angles Rams:
The Rams pulled off a trade to exchange Jared Goff for Mathew Stafford of the Lions. Stafford will lead a talented group of playmakers; Robert Woods, Cooper Kupp, Deshawn Jackson, Van Jefferson and Tyler Higbee. With Stafford onboard and the number 1 defense in the NFL, the Rams are serious title contenders.
Arizona Cardinals:
The Cardinals have added WR AJ Green to compliment DeAndre Hopkins. Kyler Murray improved in his sophomore year with 26 TDs and a QB Rating of 94.3. Murray will need to continue to improve if the Cardinals hope to improve on their 8-8 record of last year.
San Francisco 49ers
Jimmy Garoppolo? Will the 9ers stick with Jimmy G or make a move to improve their QB situation? It doesn’t appear there is a better option out there, would you really replace Garoppolo with Sam Darnold? A more realistic scenario is the 49ers trading up to take a QB or staying at 12 and taking a QB that drops in the draft. If they do draft a QB look for Jimmy G to start 2021 as the starter with a rookie QB sitting 2021 or replacing Jimmy mid-way through the season
