- 49ers moved up from 12th to 3rd in the draft giving up 2 future first round picks to the Dolphins.
- The Dolphins traded a future first round pick to the Eagles to move from 12 (49ers pick) to 6
- Eagles pick up a future first round pick to move back in the draft from 6 to 12
What does this mean?
- The 49ers will definitely draft a QB at 3, which means the first 3 picks in the draft will be QBs; Jaguars will pick Lawrence with the first pick and the Jets will pick Wilson with the second pick
- The 49ers will take either Lance, Fields or Jones. Speculation is the 49ers will take Mac Jones with the 3rd pick but that is just speculation and this point no one really knows until draft night
- Tua will be the Dolphins QB for 2021. The Dolphins will load up on offensive weapons and give Tua an opportunity to proof he is the QB of the future. If he struggles, the Dolphins have plenty of picks to make a move in 2022 for a QB
- The Eagles are going with Hurts as their QB in 2021 and similar to the Dolphins if Hurts struggles, they have plenty of picks next year to improve their QB situation
- What will the Falcons do at number 4? Guess is they take a QB, maybe Fields and let him sit a year behind Matt Ryan
- What about Jimmy G and Sam Darnold? Look for them to start for the 49ers and Jets in 2021 and if they falter the young guns will take over. Both organizations are hoping Jimmy and Sam can build up their trade value and trade them mid-season or end of the season as the 2022 figures to be a weak QB class at this point
